From 21st till 24th May our company completed a shooting training with the City Police of Trnava. The training was mainly focused on: safe manipulation with a gun, target shooting and methods to achieve progress shooting on multiple targets, time limited shooting and drill exercises on metal torsos. During theese four days 39 city policeman exchanged in shooting and shot away a volume of ammunition nearly equal to the annual ammunition of the state police. I have to admit that their shooting level is very good. I would even say that it is better than the state police (of course I mean ordinary police forces, not special units)
I could see big shortcomings in the manipulation with the gun and removing gun defects during the shooting. All this can be eliminated by shooting more often as well as working with the gun when they are at the shoting range. At the end of each job the best were able to hit four metal torsos with 2 shots (total 8 shots) at the distance of 9 metres from the case and with a gun without a cartridge in the chamber in just 5 seconds. Everyone who understands at least a little dynamic shooting had to admit that the result are really very good if take into account the volume of sharpened cartridges.
At the end I would like to say thanks to responsible managing officers of Trnava City Police department but mainly to Mgr. Lutišan Vladimír, Head of technical security section with whom I comunicated about this shooting training and subsequently carried it out. I am sincerely glad that such managing officers exist, which in theese times when the safety situations are getting worse are trying to push their subordinates and make a space for them to improve their shooting skills.
